Douglas Freedberg, M.D. is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon who has trained at some of the most prestigious orthopedic and sports medicine institutions in the world. He specializes in knee and shoulder arthroscopy, sports medicine, golf injuries and injuries to the throwing athlete. Total joint arthroplasty is an additional area of expertise.
Dr. Freedberg received his M.D. from the University of Arizona and completed his Residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery/Cornell. He also completed his Fellowship (Sports Medicine Surgery) at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama under the Directors of James Andrews, MD and William Clancy, Jr. MD.
Dr. Freedberg and Dr. Waslewski are the orthopedic surgeons for the Phoenix Coyotes and head the Scottsdale Unified School District Athletic Trainer/Sports Medicine game coverage program. Dr. Freedberg is the Spring Training physician and consultant for the Oakland Athletics Baseball Club, and works closely with both the PGA and LPGA. He is also the orthopedic consultant for Athletes’ Performance, an elite training center in Tempe.
